making play dough

gather up
- 1 cup of plain flour
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of cooking salt
- 2 teaspoons of creme of tartar
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- food dye

Pop all the ingredients straight into a saucepan. Mix them together first, then stir on the stove at a low heat for about three minutes. You'll know when the mix is ready as it resembles play dough! Split the mix into two and make different colours if you like. Leave to cool for a few more minutes and store in the fridge in an airtight container.

Mamma's lil' tip: set aside a few 'real' kitchen items to use when playing also had a couple of drops of lavender oil to the made up mix. Not only will your play dough smell good it has a nice calming effect.
