playdate café, hoppers crossing

Mamma loves a café with a cause!

Playdate Café is a not for profit training café that offers work experience for those seeking employment, wanting to return to the work force or just wanting to volunteer. The café was started by Fiona a couple of years ago, who after being a stay at home mum, found it hard to return to the work force without a current work based referee. So she started doing volunteer work to gain experience and later started Playdate Café to do the same for others.

With a gated outdoor play area and an indoor play space, this is the perfect place to just chill out and hang on a sunny day. Serving a cheap and cheerful menu of classics like toasties and baked goods, you can feed the fam bam for under $20 bucks!

At the heart of this lovely café is community engagement and social responsibility – from partnering with the local toy library for the toys, providing training/work experience and being run entirely by volunteers, Playdate is a café with a mission.

Mamma says come eat, play, volunteer and support this lovely social enterprise!

Mamma's special mention:  The café is always looking for volunteers to help at the café or bake some delicious treats, please contact the café for more details. Also a perfect pit after shopping at Werribee Plaza!
