If you are heading up to Ballarat this July, Mamma says you MUST give this little freebie art trail a go.
The Activated Artwalk is a street art experience like none other. Using a special augmented reality app on your phone, the six art pieces found in and around Sturt Street come to life when you lift you look at them through your phone. Shapes change colour, scenes shift and move, and even there is even some singing and dancing.
The kids will love the challenge of following a map to find these treasures and it’s a great way to see this town gorgeous.
If you are planning to head out on the Artwalk, we suggest you download the EyeJack app onto your smartphone while you are connected to wifi and then you will be set to go when you arrive. Paper maps are available at the information centre, or online too. For all the links you will need - Click HERE!
Mamma’s special mentions: Wintertime is a wonderful time of year to explore Ballarat. The Ballarat Winter Festival runs from June 29 - July 28 and includes Mamma’s favourite - The Sovereign Hill Winter Wonderlights!
