museum of the moon, scienceworks - spotswood

Mamma loves the moon and rarely misses an opportunity to gaze up at it when it is at its fullest and brightest.

Well, this is an amazing opportunity to get up close and take some time to marvel Earth's only permanent natural satellite. It is quite breathtaking.

Museum of the Moon is essentially a spherical sculpture hanging in what looks like mid-air. It has a giant seven metre diameter and features large scale NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At a scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the sculpture is equal to five kilometres of the moon's surface.

You can kick back on the little couches, get a little lunarfied, listen to moon facts and soak in the sounds of Debussy’s Clair De Lune (Mamma’s FAVE tune) plus more music created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello Award winning composer Dan Jones.

Museum of the Moon is created by UK artist Luke Jerram.
