organ pipes national park, keilor north

If you are looking for a spot to go for a bushwalking adventure - then Organ Pipes National Park is a must in the West. The Organ Pipes themselves are beautiful huge rock columns formed by the cooling and cracking of molten lava from over a million years ago and are the feature of the park.

The 'pipes' are located about a 15 min steep walk down the bitumen road from the car park (which is actually the top of an old volcano!) and there are toilets and picnic facilities at each end.

This is a very popular spot and it's no wonder with the views and fascinating cliffs. Be sure to follow the river (Jackson Creek) track along for some extra exploring and also check out the lovely Rosette rock, also at the bottom of the valley.
