berbert park playground, footscray

This is a cute pocket playground in Footscray that adjoins the Footscray Hospital carpark. They’ve recently upgraded it, and now the pocket park includes a half court, hopscotch, table tennis table (BYO paddles and balls), exercise station, and more seating.

The original part includes a nest swing, climbing frame and a ride-on spring doggy (Mamma has absolutely no idea what the name of that classic playground item is)!

While this may not be a destination playground, and it’s important to note the parking on adjoining streets is a permit zone (you would have to park on Essex St and walk up), it’s a good one to know about if you’re on foot in the area, or want to stop for a quick play after lunching or breakfasting at some of the nearby cafes.

Have a bento box at the nearby cute Ebi Fine Foods. Or grab some takeaway treats from Gordon St Bakery to bring to the playground.
