Brimbank Council have unveiled a new pocket playground in Cary St Sunshine North, and Mamma thinks it’s just great! No playground cookie cutter happening here - a unique wooden climbing structure with netting and slide suits preschool aged children perfectly.
The new playground is made up of a see-saw, toddler scrambling area, a basket swing, and two cute ‘Clubhouse’ looking large towers - one for the little ones and one for the older kids.
The kids will quickly pick up the theme here - soldiers, horses and a huge playground with the Eureka flag perched at the top! Adventure is the name of the game here.
Frank Gibson Reserve in Laverton is one of Hobson Bay Council’s local community parks - and it sure is a favourite with our little ones! This park boasts a cute ‘bug’ theme - with an accessible ladybug whirl, rope climbing frame, caterpillar slide, toddler rockers and a new swing set. There is also a set of junior soccer goals, a drinking fountain, bike parking and new garden beds - fantastic!
Adventures parks are fantastic and this one is in a league of its own - it is positively teeming with people on the weekends and its location on the banks of Ballarat's Lake Wendouree makes this the perfect family destination.

Your kids are going to love Mimi the dinosaur at McNish Park in Yarraville - climb inside to clamber around in her tum and slide down her tail, there's even an in-built megaphone so you can 'ROAR' like a dinosaur or if it's all a bit too scary - hide inside the big dinosaur 'cubby' eggs. There's plenty of shade, toilets and a new undercover bbq area too! Fantastic for the toddlers and little ones.
Grab your bikes or scooters and head down to Montgomery Park to ride the pump track before it heads to its new location!

Well, here my friends, is a top notch playground! Armstong District Park and Playground This stunning new play space is chock full of fun!
This playground has been designed in such a way to invite creative and mindful play, and to utilise those gross motor skills, meaning your kids will be totally WORN OUT! And while the kids are off making up obstacle courses, you can relax. Mamma rarely comes across a playground this tranquil.
The new Junior Bike Skills Track at Hansen Reserve will have your little ones levelling up bike and scooter skills in no time! Let them ride over bumps and humps, sweep around corners and then build up speed to follow the track past the footy oval and down into the playground, for an action packed day out!
What a fantastic community playground and park space Armstrong Reserve in Newport is. The playground equipment at this park is just fantastic - with an ocean theme to go with the huge pirate ship climbing frame. Your minis will be shouting ‘ahoy me hearties’ from the crow’s nest in no time! Featuring a wooden octopus centre piece, lots of swings, and more.
Wyndham Park is an amazing playground. This is more than a park! It’s a precinct of FUN!

Wow - what a fantastic park. A visit to Kingston Park in Ocean Grove will always get a 10 out of 10 from the kids - and they KNOW parks! The great green slide is obviously super popular and there is heaps of fun to be had here with separate zones for all kinds of play. You’ll find nature play, sandpits, challenge ropes and monkey bars, picnic areas and so much more.
Green Gully Reserve is a real treat. The whole area is very spacious with plenty of room for picnics, ball games and to just generally spread your wings!
Woodend’s Children’s Park is such a gorgeous playground! Firstly, it’s HUGE, and has so many zones, so kids of all ages will love it here.
Expect to spend a bit of time here as there is heaps to do and as an added bonus the park is directly under the flight path to the airport so we spotted heaps of real life planes coming in to land!
A little slice of playground heaven, this one is well worth the trip! There is a full size soccer field, and plenty of other grassy spots to kick a ball, as well as 2 tennis courts, a basketball half court, skate park and climbing wall!
Mamma just loves a playground with a scooter run! The track has steep enough spots to satisfy older kids on bikes but is safe enough for little ones on scooters.

There is LOTS to investigate at this brand new playground - start by climbing the slide tower and zoom down the slide (it’s fast!), run around to the sand pit and get digging, then head up to the water feature and get the water to roll down through the creek bed.
There is a fun area for the kids to hang and climb, plus a great little track around the outside of the park and grassy areas, which is perfect for scooters and bikes. So while the kiddies are off doing that, YOU can have a play on all the workout equipment.
Smack bang in the middle of a huge new sporting complex with two sporting fields, six tennis courts, enclosed cricket nets this playground is sure to get a lot of use!

What a great park! This fantastic playground in Deer Park was built back in 2011 but was way ahead of its time in terms of the 'volcano' theme and great equipment.
Arrgh, let it be known that Mamma LOVES a pirate shipped themed park - and this is surely one of the best. This playground has been hidden in Coogoorah Park for quite a long time now but it really is timeless AND is named after a 1902 local shipwreck. Very cool.

Little Green playground is a quiet neighbourhood park in a new estate
Haven Park is a brand new park in the new estate of Haven in Tarneit. It is fresh and clean with lots of lush well established green grass for picnicking, cartwheels or lounging in the sun.
Mamma says bring your bucket and spade to this one!
As soon as you see the lovely blue and yellow shade sails over the playground you know you are in for a treat.
Poppy Kettle park has the most stupendous view along the waterfront in Geelong plus puff the magic dragon and of course that awesome slide and climbing tower.
With current must haves in parks - flying fox, net swing and lovely gardens to explore, it also has our old favourites - swings, slides, climbing ropes and basketball ring.
The feature 'playscape' area is excellent - with swings, a giant pea pod, cow park bench, an alphabet maze, a HUGE platypus and so so much more! Look closely and you will find all kinds of treasures scattered throughout the space.
Your kids can be the 'kings and queens of the castle' at Victory Park in Ascot Vale - it is literally a big wooden castle complete with turrets, slides, ramps, stairs, hidey holes, sandpit, swings and much more. There is a great toddler section with a smaller slide and sandpit plus the bigger kids will love discovering the five other slides around their fortress. Oh, it's mostly fenced too!
Mamma says Navan Park Playground in Melton West is an absolute ripper - just take a look at that rocket ship slide and you’ll agree! Your little ones will love the little shop front, trampoline, in built games and activities, swings, the large sandpit, slides, climbing walls and ropes. Your older kids will be obsessed with the gigantic basket swing, the smooth glider, and the flying fox too.

Nestled in among the houses and homes in Alamanda Estate in Point Cook is a cute and quiet little community playground called 'Flower Pot' Playground. There is a great sandpit, lots of picnic tables & an undercover BBQ area, some small trees for shade and some very unique giant red flowerpots to hide in, climb on and slide down. This playground is just perfect for the smaller children to enjoy.
Beaton reserve Park in Yarraville is great! Bring your bikes, trikes, scooters, skates, skateboards, basketball, frisby and table tennis paddles and ball to this gem of a park. With plenty of space to move your kids (and you!) are bound to leave this place happily exhausted.

This play space has a good blend of modern play equipment and nature based elements to it. Say hello to the large stripy snake near the sandpit, it is a very nice draw card to the park, kiddos can climb onto his back, give him a hug or jump off the tail!

A bright and colourful park to add to the estate here in Woodlea! Making it a total of FOUR pretty amazing adventures to be had in this neck of the woods.
Do you need a place where you can feel relaxed as a parent while the kids explore and play? Have you got a runner? Then Shorten Reserve in West Footscray is for you. Located next to an oval this little playground is fully fenced in (there are a couple of gates you need to check are closed) and Mamma can honestly say plonking on a park bench and taking a breath is actually a possibility here.
The Coronet park playground has a big grassy space, bbq's and next to a kid friendly cafe with an indoor kids corner - with a hall available for hire for parties! This is a wonderful playground to visit.
This playground gets TWO thumbs up by Mamma and the road testing kiddos. Mamma's fav has to be the flying fox of course, while the kids just love that slide.
This is a really great park - it's just a bit different, with a creative use of space and the location makes it even more interesting. Built in the shadow of the Bolte Bridge it has water play features, excellent sand play and some fab sliding action.
Don't expect a huge array of equipment here - there is one lovely wooden structure with climbing webs and ropes, a mammoth slide and swings but it's unique, a little quirky and overlooks a lovely tree filled valley, making it a nice spot to relax whilst the kids play.
This park is a fav for both big and little kids with a smaller bowl skate/scooter section.
What a bonus this little spot is. Set back from Werribee South Boat ramp, you can spot pelicans, collect shells, make sand castles, chat to the local fisherman and of course have a play on Freddie the green sea dragon!

This is a lovely little village park with plenty of shade and a super local relaxed feel. The play equipment mostly caters for lots and lots of toddler fun. Harris Reserve in the popular inner West suburb of Seddon is always busy with friendly locals - there is lots of grassy spots to bring a ball for a kick, or a picnic rug for a little bit of lunch under the shade. And it’s mostly fenced in too, so balls won’t roll onto the street with any luck - fantastic!

Well, suffice to say Mamma has never really seen a play space like this one! Consisting of a bright orange 80-100 metre long climbing frame behemoth - this is certainly one for the climbers and budding ‘ninja warrior’ in the family!

Walking along The Strand is the perfect way to watch the day take shape over Melbourne whilst the kids play. Beautiful.
