hazelwood park, woodlea estate
/Mamma is speechless… Hazelwood Park in Woodlea Estate is just gorgeous and certainly one of the best play spaces that we have seen! A big call - we know - but this park is absolutely incredible, you need to check it out!
Mamma has seen hundreds and hundreds of parks in her lifetime - but folks, this one is something special. It is truly magical - there is no rock left unturned, no detail that hasn’t been thought of, and they’ve truly put our kids at the centre of their park design.
Why is it so good? Let us tell you why:
There is so much fun to be had, with every piece of play equipment that your little one could wish for. Multiple slides, swings, climbing ropes, mini ninja warrior style climbing pieces, spinners, rope beams, little play cubby houses, water play areas, musical play, spinners, and so much more. It is bright, colourful, and is surrounded by the wonderful wetlands (under construction) and nature areas.
It is truly inclusive - there are pram and wheelchair-accessible entry points, the elevated play structures are easy for the grandparents to climb, and the park caters to a diverse range of play styles, from quiet, neurodivergent-friendly spaces to calming sensory zones to group play areas that encourage social connection for families of all ages and abilities.
The park is centred around nature - based in the heart of Woodlea’s wetlands, Hazelwood Park is located next to hectares of protected Red Gum trees, and wetlands and weaves storytelling and nature into every single detail. Your kiddos will see dragon fly sculptures, bird nests in the trees, bright Billy Button flower sculptures throughout the park, and of course is centred around three gumnut shaped statures for the kids to explore. Your little ones might even see a cockatoo or a kangaroo roaming about - the area surrounding the park is humming with local animals!
It features 5 cute hidden doors to explore with fairies and bugs waiting behind them to be found - really appealing to your mini’s imagination. A true adventure story waiting to unfold!
There is heaps of seating and shade - bring down some snacks, you’ll be here all day! There’s even a mini table and chairs set for the smaller kids, and a water fountain in case you run out of H20!
Mamma wishes there was a park like this around when she was growing up - it is a true whimsical wonderland for your little ones.
