hackberry reserve, woodlea
/New park loading… Mamma has discovered a playground that is destined to become a fast favourite for Westside families!
Nestled in the heart of Woodlea, Hackberry Reserve marks the grand finale in the suburb’s impressive collection of 22 thoughtfully designed parks — and it’s an absolute standout. Inspired by native rock wallabies, with the cutest wallaby statues scattered throughout the space, this colourful and creative park is made for little explorers who love to climb, slide and move.
This is one of those beautiful all-abilities playgrounds where every child can join in the fun. There are two traditional swings, a basket swing for shared giggles, a seated spinner and sweet wallaby rockers for the younger visitors, all thoughtfully placed within an engaging play space. The hero features are the two enormous rock-climbing structures — bold, bright and offering different levels of challenge — perfect for both beginners finding their confidence and seasoned climbers ready to test their skills. The main playground adds even more excitement with two slides, climbing ropes and interactive elements built right into the equipment.
Mamma also loves that this park makes it so easy to settle in and stay a while. There’s a shaded table area with BBQ facilities for relaxed family catch-ups, a water tap for quick drink bottle refills and plenty of open grass for kicking a footy, running around or rolling out a picnic rug. Easy street parking surrounds the reserve, which means getting there with scooters, bikes and snack bags in tow is nice and simple.
With so much space to play, climb and explore, Hackberry Reserve is more than worth the trip and is set to become a regular for playdates, weekend adventures and after-school park runs. Another beautiful reminder that the West really does parks best!
