Mamma says - WOW. You will be hard pressed to find many other playgrounds so beautifully thought through as this one.

McCormack Park in Laverton has had a MEGA upgrade - as in, you may recognise a few original features, but this space has been fully transformed into a beautiful, inclusive, abundant space FULL of places to explore, climb, jump, swing and run.

Every detail has been thought of to maximise the enjoyment of ALL children and families. Let’s list some of the highlights:

- Fully fenced
- 3 types of water play (splash park, mister, animal - sprinklers over the lawn)
- Huge timber viewing and climbing structure (wheelchair accessible for viewing) with climbing blocks and wide slide (for carers to go down doubles)
- Trampolines (one wheelchair accessible)
- Toilets with change area
- Quiet sensory zones
- Reflexology paths
- 5 types of swings
- BBQ’s and shelter
- Stage
- Animal sculptures
- Nature sculptures
- Basketball court
- Gym equipment

They literally can’t fit anything else in here. Mamma says, but it’s not crowded, it’s so spacious. The council and design team have done a beautiful job with this one - and it’s all in the details.

The space incorporates the local natural habitant perfectly with references to local wildlife all around the park.

There are lovely established trees here for shade and the Laverton Creek weaves through the adjacent bushland where there are pathways to explore further.

It is fantastic!
