armstrong reserve (octopus park), newport

What a fantastic community playground and park space Armstrong Reserve in Newport is. It is large, green, shady and is a destination for lots of Westie folks and their little ones!

The playground equipment at this park is just fantastic - with an ocean theme to go with the huge pirate ship climbing frame. Your minis will be shouting ‘ahoy me hearties’ from the crow’s nest in no time!

The centre piece is a wooden octopus for the kids to climb on, alongside a nest swing, lots of blue soft fall flooring, swings, a great picnic shelter, seating and heaps of other cool bits and bobs for the kids to explore. Mamma thinks this park is perfect for all ages - Mamma’s minis (nearly 1 and 5) both genuinely have the best time at this local playground!

The park has lots of shady trees, lush green grass too! There is also a basketball court. Be prepared to stay a while here… it is one of Mamma’s favourites in the inner west!
