pipemakers playground, maribyrnong

The eagerly anticipated nature playground has finally landed ‘On Country’, here at Pipemakers Park, and Mamma and the kiddies couldn’t be happier! Amongst the gum trees, you will first notice a pair of nests high in the sky with twisty twirly pipe slides pouring down from the top of the towers. This is an adventurers playspace - your big kids will have to ascend the ropes to get into the nest, then balance across a netted beam to make it to the second bundle of sticks from which the tallest pipe slide begins. Wheeee!

Back on the ground, there are swings, rock climbing, music making devices, spinners and twisters, stepping stumps and a massive campfire.

From here, pass through ‘Wind Country’ to find a giant sand play area fit-out with hammock, wooden balance beam, scoops, buckets and pulleys. Flat rocks separate this space from the neighbouring ‘Water Country’ rainwater pump - perfect for a little splash, or making soggy sand pies. This area is a magnet for little legs - they won’t want to leave!

Mamma LOVES this nature playground. It is shady, peaceful, tranquil and FUN! And it is informative too - read the poles dotted about and learn about the practices and beliefs of the Traditional Owners of Wurundjeri Country. This playground was worth the wait - it’s AMAZING!

Mamma’s special mention: Continue the adventure! Walk or ride along Maribyrnong River Trail, or meander on down to Burndap Park.
