barrabool maze estate, barrabool

Mamma LOVES a hedge maze, there is just something magical and mysterious about them. And kids of all ages seem to love getting lost in the never ending pathways. This one originated in the 90’s but fell into disrepair - only to be rejuvenated (thankfully) by its new owners recently. There is a playground, and a lookout and some other spaces to find which makes it even more exciting. Mamma ‘may’ have cheated and gone through the gaps in the hedge to get there though…but just don’t tell anyone ok?

This place isn’t just about the maze - there are some fantastic gardens to walk through and a dam to check out. There is still some garden ‘creation’ happening so it is still a work in progress in some parts.
The cafe is fantastic, with delicious food, colouring-in for the kids and amazing views over the estate and rolling hills in the distance. There is even a cozy outdoor fire for the winter where you can sip on some local wines and enjoy this amazing place.

Mamma’s special mention: Hiding out the back of Geelong is Buckley Falls - a little surprise package of fun, adventure and beauty! It is about an 11 minute drive from here - check it out.
