The Sunshine Lunar New Year Festival is on AGAIN this year and it’s going to be AMAZING. Giddy up and celebrate the year of the horse!
It will be held on Sunday Feb 8 from 12pm - 10pm and there is so much FREE fun for the family. There is live entertainment, children’s rides, street performers, music, dancing, street food, face-painting, magical Lion and Dragon dancing, red-pockets and a fabulous array of special effects and multiple firecracker long strings.
The Sunshine Lunar New Year Festival is a free community celebration welcoming the Lunar New Year and bringing families and friends together. Held on Hampshire Road in Sunshine, the event features live multicultural entertainment, music, dance performances, children’s rides, face painting, street performers, lawn games, and a Cultural Kids Zone.
Everyone can enjoy a wide range of international street food, fun challenges like the Fastest Pho and Fastest Burger eating competitions with cash prizes, and red-pocket giveaways hosted by Diana Nguyen. Local sporting groups will also run activities for kids.
The highlight of the evening is a spectacular Lion and Dragon dance with special effects and a long-string firecracker display at 6:30pm. The festival is proudly presented by the Sunshine Business Association with support from Brimbank City Council and community partners.
The Lunar New Year Festival, or Tét Festival is a special day to celebrate the lunar calendar with family and friends, and such an enjoyable way to bring the wonderful and diverse community together. Time to welcome the year of the Horse.
