It is the year of the DRAGON in 2024 and the West will be celebrating at the Sunshine Lunar New Year Festival. This amazing event is not to be missed and once again the program is filled with fun, entertainment, food, dragons and of course fireworks!

Held on Sunday Jan 28 from 12pm - 10pm and there is so much FREE fun for the family.

The Snuff Puppets and their new production - THE BEASTS OF OZ will attend with a huge Koala and Frilled-Neck Lizard wandering the street. Later in the day a vibrant Lion and Dragon dance complete with long string fireworks will take place 6pm at the stage ending with a traditional Lunar New Year display of Fireworks at 9pm.

The stage will feature the fabulous and funny Diana Nguyen who will give away red-pockets with $ across the day’s event Live multicultural bands and dance groups will entertain the community and showcase their cultural heritage and talented musicians.

There will be so many street food vendors, carnival rides, pony rides, face-painting, stilt walkers, bubbles, showbags, street-performers and cultural kid’s activities will take over Hampshire Road.

Oh and don’t forget the Banh Mi and Pho EATING competitions (Surely Mamma can enter this one?)

The Lunar New Year Festival, or Tét Festival is a special day to celebrate the lunar calendar with family and friends, and such an enjoyable way to bring the wonderful and diverse community together. Time to welcome the year of the DRAGON!
