If you’re looking for a little outing that combines books, creativity and plenty of things to keep the kids busy, Lily and Hugo’s in Sunbury is such a cute find.
This brand-new children’s bookstore has opened in the Evans Street Arcade and it’s been designed with your little ones in mind - think chalk at the front, cute reading nooks and beanbags, plus a huge drawing and colouring table stocked with textas, pencils and crayons. Basically, somewhere you can browse while the kids happily get stuck into their own little activity.
And it’s not just a bookshop! Storytime runs at 10:30am on weekdays, making it an easy one to add to a morning outing, while craft activities run from 3:30–4:30pm on weekdays. There’s something really lovely about a kids’ bookstore that encourages them to actually hang out with books rather than simply pick one off a shelf - your minis can read, draw, colour, listen to stories and explore at their own pace.
So if you’re heading to Sunbury with your little ones, put Lily and Hugo’s on your list. Grab a coffee, let the kids choose a new book and give yourself a little breather - Mamma says this bookstore will make the whole family want to stay a while!
