on the move exhibit at national wool museum, geelong

Calling all little adventurers and transport lovers! The National Wool Museum in Geelong has a new hands-on exhibition, On the Move, and it’s packed with opportunities for kids to create, experiment and explore the world of transport.

From discovering how we get around to imagining what the vehicles of tomorrow might look like, this interactive exhibition makes learning fun, with plenty to keep curious little minds busy. It’s a great option for a family day out, especially if you have little ones like Mamma who love getting hands-on rather than just looking at displays.

There’s heaps for kids to get stuck into, including making their own paper planes and testing how they fly, designing and building vehicles of the future, and putting their creations to the test. Little engineers can explore transport, discover how different choices can help the environment and learn more about how we travel. With opportunities to build, test, problem-solve and get creative, there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained while sneaking in a little learning along the way!

And here’s Mamma’s tip: don’t head home once you’ve finished the exhibition! Your On the Move ticket includes entry to the wider National Wool Museum, so you can keep the adventure going and explore the rest of the museum too. Make a day of it and enjoy two adventures in one!

On the Move is running until 22 November 2026 - make sure you check it out folks before it’s too late!
