williamstown italian film festival, williamstown

A golden era of Italian films is coming to Willi this season!

Did you know the Williamstown Italian Social Club was actually the original movie theatre in Williamstown? Built in 1907, it was originally an open air movie theatre called The Empress, then in the 50’s the brick facade was built and it continued showing movies up until the 60’s.

Thanks to the WISC and The Sun Theatre, the club will be transformed BACK into a movie theatre for the Williamstown Italian Film Festival, with dining tables and table service, serving up Italian deliciousness and wines with signature red and white tablecloths and lit up with candles.

There will be both old and new Italian films, guest speakers, bocce tournaments and events over the season, plus family friendly movies (PG) and entertainment too!

The opening night was so lovely- showing The Godfather!

*May 22 session will feature a fleet of fiats arriving at the end of the Italian Job, a Bocci tournament in between movies and speciality themed cocktails!

I think Mamma just got an offer she can’t refuse!
