maribyrnong river trail, footscray

We in the West are blessed with Melbourne's most beautiful river right on our doorstep. The Maribyrnong River Trail provides endless opportunities to choose your own outdoor adventure via foot, bike or trike. Mamma says you're sure to find something for everyone along the way whether it's the outdoor gym equipment on the riverfront near Footscray Park or the playground at Jensen Reserve or exploring Pipemakers Park. There is more! You can marvel at Mazu, the beautiful gold lady at the Heavenly Queen Temple, fish from the jetties, go for a wander through Newells Paddock Conservation Reserve or just sit for a while and you might be lucky enough to spot cormorants diving and swans gliding by.

Mamma's special mention: the section between Footscray Road and gorgeous Riverside 'Pirate Ship' Park in Aberfeldie is nice and flat so it's an easy path for young walkers and riders.
