the odd spot cafe and ilibro bar, newport
/Oddspot has been part of the Newport cafe scene for a long time, but it’s recently been taken over by new owner Jim, a long-time local. He has kept the name, so it’s still Oddspot – quick service, good food and great coffee.
But on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the doors reopen as Ilibro – a stylish, sassy wine bar that feels like it was always meant to be here. The lights go down, the music goes up, and it transforms into a great place to sit and catch up on the week that was.
Everything is made in house, and the bar menu is tapas-style share plates that go perfectly with a glass of wine or a cocktail. It’s not complicated – just good flavours that work well with a drink and good company.
Mamma says, Jim has created something that feels like a little local secret – a spot you can drop into on a whim and most definitely see someone you know.
Oddspot by morning, Ilibro by night – a clever two-for-one that Newport is loving.
