salamatea, sunshine

Everything is dialled up to the max here: from the spices and flavours, to the love and compassion. Cafe Sunshine and SalamaTea is a social enterprise run entirely by refugees and people seeking asylum. It specialises in Persian cuisine with beautifully presented tasty meals like the felafel plate and Gheymeh slow cooked lamb and rice.

There are amazing treats and sweets including delicious Persian baklava, lunch specials are available weekdays for dine-in, and refugee and asylum seeker patrons get a 20% discount on all food. There’s also preprepared meals for takeaway dinners, and - Mamma’s calling it - the best coffee in Sunshine!

Whether you’re wanting breakfast, lunch or dinner, SalamaTea is an inviting space that serves wholesome food with heart and soul. It’s well worth supporting.

Mamma’s special mention: Sunshine Library is a short walk from here with a great children’s section and Storytimes!
