bayview 'pirate ship' park, point cook
/Ahoy, little adventurers! The much loved ‘Pirate Ship’ playground at Bayview Park in Point Cook has had a little glow up, and Mamma is here for it.
Perched high on the hill with some gorgeous bay views and the iconic giant slide still stealing the show, this park continues to be one of Melbourne’s West’s ultimate playground destinations - but now with even more reasons to visit.
The famous pirate ship remains the star attraction, with plenty for little imaginations to explore including rope ladders, mini rock climbing walls, and a crows nest lookout spot perfect for tiny captains. There have been some recent upgrades that have added even more play value for your little ones, with brand new swings, a climbing rope and an updated sandpit with a cafe play area ready for hours of digging, building and sandy chaos.
Mamma especially loves that this playground really caters for the whole family. While the kids burn energy conquering the pirate ship, Mamma can make use of the new fitness equipment or settle in with a coffee at the fresh seating areas scattered around the park. There’s also a new drinking fountain, making those longer park plays a whole lot easier - especially during the warmer weather.
With wide open grassy spaces, picnic tables, BBQ facilities, basketball court fun and plenty of room for scooters and ball games, this Point Cook fave is still an easy all day outing. Pack the snacks, gather the crew and prepare for some serious pirate worthy adventures at one of the West’s most iconic playgrounds.
