forest glade gardens, mount macedon

Oh yes...this looks just like Mamma's garden...well, the one in her dreams maybe! Mamma and the fam love a good garden exploration and this one certainly does not disappoint!  The 14 acre gardens are absolutely stunning with new things to see at every turn. So many statues, fountains, bridges, amazing greenery, two aviaries and also an oriental garden, topiary garden, fern gully AND maple forest!  The colours in Autumn are glorious and in Spring (late Nov) the laburnum arch explodes with bright yellow cascading flowers. It is incredible. There are lots of stairs, and fern gully and the maple walk are quite a way down the stone pathways so keep this in mind for the little ones.

Mamma's special mention: You may need a good hearty feed after this expedition so head to the Mount Macedon Hotel for a pub meal.
