jirrahlinga dingo conservation and wildlife education centre, chewton

Do your kiddos love getting close to wildlife and learning all about their species? If so - Mamma says Jirrahlinga Dingo Conservation and Wildlife Education Centre is right up your alley!

There are so many different varieties of Australian native animals who call this place home - dingos, koalas, reptiles, emus, wombats, birds and so much more. This place has a distinct feel - a special family vibe that you notice on arrival. Those who work here love it and love the animals - you can see their passion instantly.

Mamma’s mini loves to go to every wildlife encounter that the sanctuary offers - there’s so much to learn about these special creatures, it’s truly incredible! Your kids will especially love the opportunity to get up close and very personal with a few of the animals too - including being able to touch a python, dingo and even a blue tongued lizard!

Hungry? Grab yourself a light refreshment at the on site cafe - coffees, cold drinks, slices and cookies are all prepared and ready for you!

A few extra tips from Mamma:

- Keep an eye out for the signs from Eureka Street on arrival. Your maps will take you down a dirt road, so make sure you follow the dingo paw print signage that will guide you to the right location
- There are a few hills and bumps in the Sanctuary that are not super pram friendly - so might be worth bringing a carrier instead if you have a young baby with you.
- Make sure you slip slop slap if you go in summer!
