smeaton hotel, smeaton

If there’s one thing Mamma knows and loves (apart from playgrounds and coffee) it’s COUNTRY PUBS. We love them. We love the atmosphere, the food, the history, the locals at the bar. Top points if it has a fire place, and a REALLY good menu.
The Smeaton Hotel is one of those classics. Neing the oldest weatherboard pub in Victoria (1860 - just beating the Swiss Mountain Hotel by a few years), it still feels classic. Spruced up, but also untouched. Still with every bit of its character.

The dining room has stunning art deco wallpaper, plenty of tables, and the fireplace keeps it warm and toasty. The food is excellent, served on vintage plates to bring the nostalgia.
There is a kids menu too and some sweet treats (hello golden syrup dumplings) to fill up the bellies!
