silo no. 9, west melbourne

Tucked inside the emerging Lennon Mills precinct, just steps from South Kensington Station, Silo No 9 is one of those spots that make you do a double take.

This new West Melbourne café sits within a beautifully restored brick building beneath Melbourne’s first high-rise concrete grain silo – and honestly, it’s as inviting as it is unexpected. Industrial bones, warm finishes and some seriously cool vibes, Mamma loves a hidden gem and Silo No 9 is just that!

Their weekday menu is flavour focused and built around house made staples. Think egg and bacon rolls, focaccias, chunky angus slow cooked beef pies and other hot savoury items, flaky pastries, and not to mention Detroit style sliced pizza! There’s coffee by St Remio keeping things running smoothly, plus a curated selection of imported pantry goodies – including pasta and sauces – lining the shelves for a little take home indulgence.

Their rooftop terrace steals the show though, with sweeping views across Melbourne’s city skyline stretching all the way across Port Melbourne — the ultimate backdrop for your next party or event!

Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee after the school run, a bite to eat for lunch or eyeing off that rooftop for your next celebration, Mamma says Silo No 9 is worth adding to your list.
