you yangs regional park, little river
/For outdoor adventure lovers, this place has it all. The beauty of this area is stunning, with those huge rocks, breathtaking views and lovely bushland. There are a few trails and tracks to discover for the wanderers - usually around 1.5 km circuits, but you can choose your own distance (and incline!). Flinders Peak Walk was our favourite for littlies - we spotted the Indigenous Creator Spirit, Bunjil, a stone sculpture from the peak. It was incredible!
For the older kiddos - try Big Rock. Both the big rock itself and the walk. There is a picnic ground here and toilets and the main attraction is the HUGE rock where you can easily walk to the top of. It does drop down on the other side on a slight incline, hence why the older kids are better for this one. You can also so an 800m walk around the rock which was a good small track and gets no complaints!.
There are plenty of mountain bike riding tracks too, for the more adventurous - 50km of tracks catering for all abilities. There are so many spots to set up camp for the day and relax amongst nature. Cook up some snags on the free gas BBQ, PLUS if your lucky, on weekends there is a coffee van near the entrance/visitor centre.
There is a lot of local wildlife around here, too. Mamma and co even spotted a kangaroo spying on them from a nearby tree and a echidna waddling past! Such a fantastic day out!
