you yangs regional park, little river
/For outdoor adventure lovers, this place has it all. The beauty of this area is stunning, with those huge rocks, breathtaking views and lovely bushland. There are a few trails and tracks to discover for the wanderers - usually around 1.5 km circuits, but you can choose your own distance (and incline!). Flinders Peak Walk was our favourite by far. We even spotted the Indigenous Creator Spirit, Bunjil, a stone sculpture from the peak. It was incredible!
There are plenty of mountain bike riding tracks too, for the more adventurous - 50km of tracks catering for all abilities. There are so many spots to set up camp for the day and relax amongst nature. Cook up some snags on the free gas BBQ, or spark up a wood-fired BBQ for that flame-grilled taste - and some marshmallow roasting, of course (be sure to bring along some newspaper and firelighters for those)! There is a lot of local wildlife around here, too. Mamma and co even spotted a kangaroo spying on them from a nearby tree! Such a fantastic day out!
Take care when walking and driving as there is plenty of wildlife in this area (mainly kangaroos but yes, there are snakes too) - make sure your fire is out before leaving and take your rubbish with you - dogs allowed on leads
