Little Gecko Boutique Cafe in Newport is an absolute winner, especially for all of the toddlers in Melbourne’s West. Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong is a fantastic spot to take the family for some adventure and food! It is possibly the biggest and most colourful dining spot you will ever see. The food is scrumptious with lunch favourites and dinner deliciousness - PLUS they have an awesome kids play area for your little ones to explore while you sit and have your favourite brew in peace - PERFECT!
Elephant Cafe in Newport very popular with locals and for good reason. Serving up brekkie faves all day and some tasty lunch options they are also catering for vegan and gluten free. The coffee is great and they are well and truly ready for the folks of Melbourne’s West. Mamma loves the ‘Elephant’ names for the dishes too! Horton Hotcakes and a Dumbo Combo for the kids is very cute. PLUS an outdoor play area!
Fifteen Bar and Cafe in Diggers Rest is a cute space with a delicious menu with all the favourites - to keep everyone happy! Have a substantial meal or just grab a sandwich or a sweet treat. The coffee is really good too. Sit inside or out the front, and the kids can play in the fenced off area which also has TWO cubby houses and a huge sand pit or some sensory play. Everybody wins!
The Backyard est 2016 has an AMAZING backyard and INCREDIBLE food! This fantastic Newport cafe in Melbourne’s West has a huge space out the back…perfect for the kiddos to run around in, with fake green grass, a blackboard wall, and lots of bits and pieces for the kids to play with. The menu is amazing - with faves like yummy hot chips and waffles and burgers but also great Asian fusion items that are mouth watering - yummo!
Millars in Lara (on the way to Geelong in Melbourne’s West) has something for everyone - excellent food and coffee for Mamma, and a breakfast and lunch kids menu. The star attraction is the playground right next door - suitable for both the older kids and the little ones - which means Mamma can relax and watch the kids adventuring all within an arms reach.
The Morning Star in Williamstown has long been a favourite pub in the West, and we won’t lie – Mamma couldn’t be happier to see it in the capable hands of Stephen, Matt, and Aaron. Naturally, we were front and centre when the doors reopened, and wow, the makeover is pretty special. The addition of a kids’ corner and cubby house makes it an even better option for families to enjoy.

This has to be one of the prettiest cafes in Melbourne’s West. A few years old now but with some fantastic new owners, a new menu and some gorgeous updates means you must come back to visit Fig and Walnut in Seddon. The food is YUM and fresh with great options and the service is friendly. Oh, don’t forget about the cubby and play area - it is absolutely fantastic!

Lazat in Sunshine has been serving up a great deal of tasty Malaysian food for happy families for many years, and the playground is a great feature for fun dining in. Choose to sit right next to it or stay inside knowing they are safely enclosed. There is even a little water feature with a few fishies swimming around, which is great fun for the kids to try to spot!
Feast your eyes on The Feasting Shed in Werribee - it's so much more than a cafe - it's a feast for the eyes AND the mouth! This lovely cafe sits at the back of the Garden Shed Nursery and it is amazing. There is plenty of room for pram parking too. PLUS they also have a cute little kids section with table and chalk boards AND a fantastic little potting table outside for the kids.
